Dr. Sanjeev Goel, MD, CCFP (PC), FCFP, CAFCI

Dr. Goel is currently the Lead Physician for the Wise Elephant Family Health Team and a Coroner for the Region Of Peel. He is the Medical Director of Spark Medicine, a medical cannabis clinic providing access to medical cannabis across Canada. He is also the Chief Medical Officer for PureSinse Inc, a Licenser Producer of Medical Cannabis who mandate is to advance medicinal cannabis science. With advanced training in Anti-Aging, Integrative and Regenerative Medicine, he advocates a healthy lifestyle centered around plant based diet, focused physical activity and enhancing mental resilience. Dr. Goel believes that patients should have access to the best medical and health technologies to meet their personal goals and needs.

Dr. Lopita Banerjee, MSc MD CCFP, FCFP

Dr. Banerjee is a family physician with a special interest in addictions and chronic pain. She has been involved in several global health projects, most recently helping to establish primary care in northeast India. Her practice includes public health work, palliative care and home visits, as well as duties as a Regional Coroner. Dr. Banerjee is currently the Brampton Site Chief for Family Medicine at William Osler Health System and is involved in residency curriculum development, teaching and training residents, medical students, nurse practitioners and physician assistants. In recognition of her outstanding contributions to family medicine and exemplary patient care, she received the the 2015 Regional Family Physician of the Year for Mississauga-Halton and Central West regions Award.

Dr. Jeeshan Persaud, MD, CCFP

Dr. Jeeshan Persaud is a family physician practising at the Wise Elephant Family  Health Team in Brampton since 2012 . He completed his Medical Doctorate and Residency in Family Medicine at McMaster University. He has a special interest in hypertension and metabolic syndrome and is a Diplomat of the American Board of Obesity Medicine. He has been involved in the clinical application of Cannabinoids since 2014  and is a  member of the Society of Cannabis Clinicians, The American Medical Marijuana Physicians Association, and part of the Advisory Board for the Clinical Cannabinoid Education Network.

Sandra Couto, RPh BSc Pharm

Ms Couto is a recognized pharmacist and leader in the Canadian pharmaceutical sector for more than 20yrs, with expertise in medical affairs, clinical development and product training. Her network within the medical community extends across physicians, pharmacists and allied health care practitioners within multiple therapeutic areas including rheumatology, gastroenterology, dermatology and infectious disease. In her current role as Clinical Affairs Lead at PureSinse, Sandra leads the scientific and clinical objectives including the delivery of clinical trials and medical education programs to support the application, safety and effectiveness of cannabis-based medicines for Healthcare Practitioners, Patients, Payers and Advocacy Groups.

James O’Hara

Mr O’Hara is the past President & CEO of Canadians for Fair Access to Medical Marijuana (CFAMM) which is a national medical cannabis advocacy group with a special focus on patient access. He has held leadership appointments in the financial sector, until being significantly affected by Focal Awareness Seizures, and at which point he turned to medical cannabis as a form of therapeutic treatment. Through his personal experience and journey with medical cannabis he advocates on behalf of all patients and their access to medical cannabis therapies. His efforts have been recognized at major conferences and to various government committees, policy makers and the Senate of Canada. He has been invited to present through various media channels, including; The Toronto Star, The Globe and Mail, Readers Digest, CBC, CTV, CPAC, Primetime Politics, Quirks & Quarks, and many others. He is also a sitting member on the Canadian Aids Society cannabis advisory committee.

Carolyn Khan, RPh BSc Pharm

Ms. Khan is an accomplished and dedicated pharmacist, who has been in community practice for nearly 30 years. She is the owner of Queen Lynch Pharmacy and has taken on the role of lead pharmacist for the Wise Elephant Family Health Team and the North Peel Family Health Team, where she has been instrumental in implementing and evolving comprehensive structured smoking cessation programs for both teams. Carolyn is committed to the development of future pharmacists and is currently a Capstone Clinical Preceptor for University of Waterloo and Seneca College students undertaking pharmacy technician studies. Over the years, she has served as a Preceptor for University of Toronto students, as well as international candidates and graduates completing summer studentships and licensing requirements. Carolyn have been recognized by her peers and has been awarded the prestigious Ontario Pharmacist Association Pharmacist of the Year Award, both in 2014 and 2019.
